Back to iraq / summer shows / recording / china!

Yup. We're back, one more time. And proud of it. Check back for updates on trip 8 (8!?). We're also recording - and brought the gear with to Iraq. That should lend for some interesting inspiration.

We've also booked a bunch of summer festivals. Stay tuned for all the details.

And finally - we're heading to China for a handful of gigs in May. Stay tuned for the latest on that!

ps. Did you hear about Elliot from American Idol and his fiasco in Chile during the earthquake? Yeah... that was our spot. They bumped us for him at the last minute. Needless to say, we think we would have played better, and rescued a few orphans along the way with all of our combat experience.

Just sayin'....

NAMM

We took a few days off to head to sunny California for NAMM. A huge thank you to:

Taylor Guitars: for making us feel like family! And taking us to some amazing parties!

Ultimate Ears: For the support and brand new UE-7's!

Line 6: For the new Pod XT Lives. Can't wait to try the rest of the gear.

These guys support us, we hope you'll support them. If you need an introduction, let us know, they're some of the greatest people in the industry.

After a year of buses, planes, choppers, and boats, we're doing something really dangerous.

NEW ALBUM IN THE WORKS...

Demos are piling up and we're getting the new album underway. After scrapping plans last year to record (we got a little busy in the middle east....), we're more than excited to get rolling on #3. Stay tuned for more!

Dust in the wind...

A few fun shows coming up before we head back overseas. Fist of all THANK YOU to all of the troops (and the MN Viking Cheerleaders) for coming out and making the Bunker's show so much fun.

If you missed it, you've got a few good opportunities coming up! June 17 - Peavey Plaza in downtown Minneapolis, and June 20th in Rice Lake, WI with KANSAS. Yes, THAT Kansas. Aquafest is always a blast. Big stage, big hometown crowd, and then we get to hang out for the night with friends and watch the old boys play hits like "Carry On My Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind". See you there!

Friends, we'll be playing a very special show in Los Angeles tonight, May 9, at the Peterson Auto Museum. It's part of a celebrity charity event and everyone from Tenacious D to some of the ladies from Sex and the City will be there. We hope you can make it out. More info at cureduchenne.org

eau claire this weeekend!

We love Eau Claire. Most years, it's as close to a hometown show as we get...so it gets crazy. May 2 will be no exception. College town, Water Street, Block Party, 6pm. Come out, and enjoy the sunshine and some great music. We'll see you there! Here's a link to more info: LINK

steamboat springalicious

As I write this, we're heading down to Denver from Steamboat's Springalicious end of year celebration. We played before Ozamatli on Sunday and then played a cool acoustic set on Monday for the 1,500 Steamboat Resort employees. We also got some serious time up in the mountains on some big snowmobiles. What a great way to end the ski season and welcome the warm weather. Stay tuned for pictures.

we're filming this month

03.16.09 - The great guys from Coda Post are with us for the next month, filming a pilot tv show. They'll follow us from Minneapolis, to Austin, and finally across the Middle East. Where can you see this? We can't tell you yet, but let's just say you'll be able to see it wherever you are. Coda is a video house located in Manhattan Beach, CA. They're currently responsible for over 40% of the videos on MTV as well as being the video house for brands such as Cadillac, the NBA and many more.

great article

03.01.09 - Catchpenny was recently the FEATURE story in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune A&E section. Check out the online version of the article here !

01.10.08 - Yesterday was a good day. A couple huge shows, 2 sweet chopper rides, and the opportunity to drive some Abrahms tanks around in the desert. Seriously, how many people can say they got to do that?

Above all else though, we've met some amazing people doing amazing things and we continue to be amazed at their generousity and selflessness being over here. Can't wait to get out and do it again today.

Pictures should be up tomorrow....

01.08.09 - We're back in baghdad, and we finally got our gear. I'm not one to go out and bash someone on the internet, but.... DON'T EVER FLY DELTA AIRLINES EVER! They were completely unhelpful, trashed a bunch of our bags (has anyone ever seen a guitar flight case with holes in it? How about 3 soaking wet guitars?) and didn't even say sorry. They will be hearing from us....right after we get done playing a bunch of shows for the troops. Stay tuned, pictures and more up soon....

01.02.09 - Hey Everyone. First of all, Happy New Year. We're excited to be heading back overseas on Jan. 3. In addition to performing our own shows, we're helping the Chief of Programs in Iraq find other great bands to send over. Quietdrive, Cowboy Mouth and others have stepped up and are heading overseas for our troops. It's going to be a great year for everyone.

Chris has taken over the myspace page and will be keeping that updated, as well as posting pictures here, on Flickr, and on Facebook, so be sure to check them all out, and let us know what you think. All the best, we'll see you soon...
